Blue Apple Super-food Smoothie (the Fresh The Juice Bar classic)

Blue Apple Super-food Smoothie (the Fresh The Juice Bar classic)

This one was on the menu at Fresh The Juice Bar as “Energy and Muscle Regeneration.” It’s still the smoothie I make most: blueberries, banana, spinach and kale blended with apple juice. No added sugar, five minutes, one 16 oz cup.

What you need (one 16 oz smoothie)

  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/4 cup spinach
  • 1/4 cup kale
  • 6 oz apple juice (3/4 cup)
  • 4 oz ice (1/2 cup)

How to make it

  1. Pour the apple juice into the blender first. Liquid on the bottom keeps the blades from jamming.
  2. Add the banana, blueberries, spinach and kale.
  3. Add the ice on top.
  4. Blend on high until smooth, about 45 to 60 seconds.
  5. Pour and serve right away.
